Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions and answers about Memory Notes.

General Questions

Go to My Notes, click "Create New Note", enter a title and description, then add papers using the Paper Edit screen. See the Quick Start guide above for detailed steps.

Learning Steps define the spaced repetition schedule for your reviews. For example, "1d 4d 7d 14d" means papers will be reviewed after 1 day, then 4 days, 7 days, and 14 days. The actual interval depends on your difficulty rating.

Asterisk steps have special "infinite repeat" behavior. Instead of resetting to step 1 on "Very Hard", you only drop one step. And "Hard/Normal/Easy" keep you at the same step for repeated practice.

You have several options: 1) Enable URL Sharing for direct link access, 2) Make it Public for marketplace visibility, 3) Enable Note Download to let others clone it, or 4) Sell it by setting a price.

Review mode shows only papers that are due for review and tracks your progress. Free learning lets you browse all papers freely without affecting your learning progress.

Select text in the paper editor and click the mask button (or use keyboard shortcut). During study, masks will be hidden and can be revealed one by one, helping you test your recall.

The note owner may have disabled the Download option. Also, free users have a limit of 10 owned notes. Cloned notes from downloads count toward this limit.

AI Optimize analyzes your note content and learning history to suggest optimal Learning Steps. Enter your learning goals, available time, and preferred difficulty, and the AI will recommend a personalized schedule.

Currently, only PDF files are supported for conversion. You can choose per-page conversion (free) or AI-powered methods like AI Masking and AI Flashcards.

Free users have a 2,000 character limit per paper, while Pro users have 4,000. This ensures optimal performance and encourages concise content.

You can set reminders based on learning progress or overdue paper count. Notifications can be sent via Web, App, Email, or KakaoTalk (Pro only). Configure in User Options.

Graduation means the paper has completed all learning steps. Graduated papers continue to be reviewed, but at extended intervals that grow exponentially (last step × 2.5^n).

In the eBook Viewer, use the Report function. Select a reason and optionally provide details. Our team will review the report and take appropriate action.

Yes, downloaded (cloned) notes become your own copy and can be edited freely. However, you cannot re-publish or sell cloned notes.

In Note Edit, select papers in the list and use the "Move to another note" action. This feature is available for Paid membership only and is restricted for cloned notes.

It's an AI-powered feature that analyzes your study history to identify patterns, strengths, weaknesses, and provides personalized learning recommendations. Free users get 5 analyses/month, Pro users get 30.

Go to My Notes, switch to the Subscribed Notes tab, find the note, and click the Unsubscribe button.

Copy protection is enabled for notes you don't own to protect creator content. If you need to reference content, consider downloading the note (if allowed) or taking your own notes.

Free users can generate PDFs up to 30 pages. Membership users can generate PDFs with no page limit, processed in the background with notification upon completion.

Points(Credits) & Payment

Points are the in-app currency used for features like audiobook generation and subscriber notifications. You can earn points by selling notes - when a buyer purchases your note, the earnings are credited to your point balance.

The cost is calculated as: Total text length ÷ 20. For example, a note with 10,000 characters costs approximately 500 credits.

If audiobook generation fails for any reason, the credits that were deducted are automatically refunded to your account. You can try generating again without losing credits.

The cost varies based on the number of subscribers to your note. Points are deducted when the notification is sent. The exact cost is displayed before you confirm sending.

Yes, points(credits) can be purchased separately. Visit your account page or contact support for available point packages and pricing options.

Sales & Earnings

In Note Edit, enable "Public" and set a price. Your note will appear in the marketplace. You can also set discounts and control which features (eBook, download, audiobook, PDF) are available to buyers.

Earnings are credited to your point balance when the buyer first views or downloads the purchased content. You'll receive a notification when a sale is completed.

Notes with sales history cannot be deleted to protect buyer access. If you need to delete a note due to updates or renewal, please contact the administrator for assistance.

Visit the Creator Dashboard in My Page to view your sales history, earnings, download counts, and other analytics for your published notes.

Yes, in Note Edit you can set both a regular price and a discounted sale price. The sale price will be prominently displayed to buyers with the original price shown as a strikethrough.

PWA & Offline Mode

Yes! Memory Notes supports PWA (Progressive Web App). You can install it on your device and continue editing papers offline. Changes are stored locally in your browser and will sync automatically when you're back online.

When you're offline, your edits are saved to IndexedDB in your browser. When you reconnect, a sync modal will appear showing all pending changes. You can sync individual items, sync all at once, or discard changes.

If you edited the same paper both offline and online, the system will attempt to merge changes. In case of conflicts, the most recent version (based on timestamp) is typically kept. You can review changes before syncing.

On supported browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari), look for the "Install" or "Add to Home Screen" option in your browser menu or address bar. Once installed, you can access Memory Notes like a native app.
